MEET THE CAST & CREW

Michael Weiselberg (Harry Berlin)

Mike is thrilled to be a part of this awesome production of LUV. Previously, Mike appeared as Mikey Dillon in Good People (Merely Players Presents), and the Duke of Albany in King Lear (Gwinnett Classic Theater).  At the Georgia Renaissance Festival, Mike dug up business as Avi Mavet, the Godfather of Death, the Life of the Party, and Undertaker to the Stars. Previous directing credits include the New York City premiere of his adaptation of Murder (PS 122), and A Comedy of Errors (New York Comedy Club). Last October, Mike directed the original, devised theater production of A Karaoke Riot (Contemporary Classics). Mike previously worked as Director of Content Acquisitions for Warner Bros Discovery, and recently helped Ryan Reynolds and FuboTV launch the Maximum Effort Channel. Mike received a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University, and lives in Atlanta with his gorgeous wife Vikki and their two cats.

Allen Cox (Milt Manville)

Allen is delighted to be a part of this fun show with such a great cast and exciting new company. Allen is very active in the Atlanta theatre scene appearing with Contemporary Classics Theatre (Much Ado Nothing, Macbeth, A Karaoke Riot), Lionheart Theatre (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Lion in Winter, Love, Sex & the IRS) and Horizon Theatre (Madeline’s Christmas) among others.  He will be appearing next in Clue: The Musical at Academy Theatre.  Allen sends his thanks to all of you coming out to support live theatre and sends his “luv” and a wink to Melody.

Hannah Wynelle (Ellen Manville)​

Wynelle holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Georgia. A few favorite productions at UGA include The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Long Christmas Ride Home, New Play Festival, Athens Fringe, and performing As You Like It in Cortona, Italy. Now based in Atlanta, Wynelle has performed with Contemporary Classics, Renegade Theatre Ensemble, and Emory University Choir, and is a former cast member of The Georgia Renaissance Festival and Lawrenceville Ghost Tours. Wynelle recently acted in over 30 micro-films by 17 local filmmakers between Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, and she also enjoys editing for film. 

Kelly Balzli – Director

Kelly has a Masters in Performance from the University of Tennessee and previosly performed at numerous theaters in Tennessee, Chicago, Miami and Atlanta such as Bailiwick Arts Center, Pegasus Players, Area Stage, Chigao Childrens Theater and OnStage Atlanta. She previouly directed Lost in Yonkers and Plaza Suite at Cobb Players and A Good Hot Damned at Theater Decatur. Kelly stepped away from theater abbbout 20 years ago but vowed to return when she could "do it my way". LUV is the culmination of that dream.

Whitney Callan – Stage Manager

Whitney is extremely excited to be part of this inaugural production of Ovations Theater! For several years prior, she stepped away from the theater world as a creator but the magic of theater has never been absent from her heart and soul and she feels grateful to be involved once again.  Whitney is a graduate with BA in Theater from Florida State University.  Whitney works in the advertising sales department at WXIA/WATL 11Alive.  She was raised in Rome, Georgia and now lives in Decatur with her partner Steve and their two kitties, Lucy and Yoko.  Whitney would like to thank Kelly Balzli for inviting me to join this adventure, Steve for his support, and her mother, Leigh who exposed her to the performing arts at a young age that inspired Whitney to pursue her passion.

David Reingold (Lighting Designer)

He/Him; is an Atlanta-based lighting designer and deviser. His designs can be seen with Out Front Theatre (The Prom, Kinky Boots), Actor’s Express (Mercury), Stage Door Theatre (Tuesdays with Morrie), and Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company (Breathe, This Silly Little Game) among others. As a deviser, he has worked with Alliance Theatre, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Thumbprint Studios, and the #HereToo Project. Up next this fall he will be designing The Mousetrap with Stage Door Theatre and Hairspray with Out Front Theatre. When not in the theater, David can often be found tap dancing, writing, or playing tabletop games. davidreingold.net.
